June Favourites!

Here is a list of a couple of things that I have enjoyed this June.

I went a bit loom crazy this month, and ended up with 8 up my arm... safe to say my teachers weren't very impressed! My favourite part of looms? Making them, it's just so addictive and funnily enough it calms me down- don't say it's just me?! They are so cheap, about 300 looms in a bag for 99p, a bag can last you for at least 5 looms, you can get them basically anywhere (I got mine from The Works). You can buy a whole range of them; rainbow, pastel, dip-dye, black and white etc. I particularly love the black and white- they go with everything. Looms make your outfit more edgy, I love how you can express your individuality with them. 

Ed's new album, Multiply, came out this month! I have been listening to it on repeat for weeks now, I just can't get enough of it. To be honest, I have never gotten sick of any of Ed songs- I still listen to his other album religiously- and that was released 3 years ago. My favourite songs on Multiply include Don't, The Man, and Afire Love. 

Avon Care, Nourishing Body Lotion. This body lotion, to be honest, is not the best for moisturising your skin. But the reason why it deserves a spot on my list, is because of it's lush smell. It leaves you smelling of coconut for hours, and I love the smell of coconut! Avon is probably one of my 'safer' companies, in the way that it never lets me down, I know that if I order something from Avon it won't ever be a waste of money. 

Nakd, cocoa delight. I have never actually tried anything from this company before, so when I saw this sitting on the shelf in boots, thinking to myself that I should be eating healthier, I picked up this packet of cocoa delights. It tasted so gorgeous, and I felt so happy picking these up instead of a chocolate bar! It's really healthy, made of basically mushed up fruit, nut and with cocoa. It tastes sweet, almost like chocolate, so it calmed my craving for something sweet. I do recommend these, they taste heavenly and are super healthy!

Over the summer holidays, I'm going to my uncle's wedding! So I went on a hunt for a dress, and once again I had no idea as to what I wanted. I knew that the time that I had to find a dress, shoes and accessories was limited to 3 weeks, which is in fact only 3 weekends, so 3 days... well that escalated quickly. I was quite panicked, but I knew that I could always count on my favourite dress shop- Quiz. I don't know if they have Quiz anywhere apart from the UK, but it's basically a fancy shops with a lot of dresses..! As soon as I saw this dress in the shop, I automatically fell in love with it! It's my favourite type of dress, short at the front and long at the back- it makes you feel like a butterfly. It's not a particularly fancy dress, but dresses with a lot of sequins, glitter and all that jazz are not my style- I like dark and simple yet girly clothes. Let me just say, pictures do not do justice to the real thing. The material at the top is stretchy tight, and at the bottom  you have a light flowy material. It cost me £26.99, I would say it's a bargain for such a good quality dress. Here's the link: The Dress .

 I know that I am sooo far behind, but I recently started watching American Horror Story. I wizzed through the first season, and by that I mean it took me 2 months (I just haven't got that much spare time to watch anything, but for me that's really fast!). I loved it so much, I was so hooked! The only bad thing was, that because I am so behind I can't really share my excitement with anyone- they already went through this in like 2012 :( . I am currently on the first episode of the second season, and I can't tell that this season is going to be a bit different... Hmm, can't wait to get back into watching it!

These earring I also bought for the wedding! I don't usually go for big, chunky earrings- but I fell in love with these! The detail on these is magnificent, and the gold will look glamorous alongside my dress. I picked these out from H&M for £3.99, so they weren't expensive or anything. H&M is also one of my favourite shops, I particularly love their sweaters and jumpers! The link to the earings .

My lips get really dry really quickly, I have to use a lip balm every morning and before I go to bed, if I forget to do so my lips get chapped almost immediately. Therefore, I have to use especially good lip balm- that's where these come in handy! The only Vaseline that I have ever used is the rosy lips one, I don't think it gives my lips any colour, but it's just a preference. It works very well, and stays on so well that if I put it on at night, it's still on when I wake up in the morning. The Nivea Lip Butter is also one of my favourites, this one I put in my bag so when I go out and feel my lips getting dry, I put some of this on and they feel gorgeous again. What i particularly love about this one is the smell, it's vanilla and macadamia (basically it smells like coconut). The scent is so strong, that you literally feel like eating your lips, because they smell so good! This one also stays on so well, I think it stays on a bit better than the Vaseline. The only bad thing about this one, is that it's a bit thick on your lips, even if you put on a thin layer, it feels really thick on your lips.

These are my shoes for the wedding, and let me just start of by saying that pictures do not give justice to these shoes- they don't show the exact pretty orange/pink colour, or the lovely smooth shape. I love these so much, because they are so girly yet sophisticated. I think they brighten up my dress, it makes my outfit look more colourful and fun (which is what I'm going for, I don't want to look too depressing for a wedding). And a bonus, they are very comfortable! I bought these from New Look for £20, a bit pricey as for shoes, but I think that at the end of the day it was worth it.

Garnier, Ultimate Blends Sleek Perfector oil. I have been looking for something to tame my frizzy hair for ages, and just when it was out of control, I found this. It has saved me, a lot of times! It works very well by smoothing my hair, it also makes my hair smell of coconut for the whole day- I think I'm going for a coconut theme? However, before using this I will warn you- you have to learn how to use it properly if you don't want your hair to look greasy. The first time (and many times after that), I made some mistakes when putting it in and it made my hair look horribly greasy. First of all, NEVER put it at the top of your hair (trust me, I done it so many times!). Secondly, don't put too much in, no matter how frizzy your hair is- one pump IS enough. Last of all -just a general pointer- if you want this product to work best, what I found is that washing your hair, spreading it through the bottom, then blow drying it works best. Putting it in when your hair is dry doesn't work as well for me, and neither does putting it in your wet hair and letting your hair dry overnight.

Trip to Great Yarmouth

As some of you living in England may know, this week's weather has been absolutely BEAUTIFUL!

So, because this is a very rare sighting in England, my family and I took an advantage of the sun, and had a trip to the beach. 

We went to Great Yarmouth, and for those of you who don't know; Great Yarmouth,  is a coastal town in Norfolk, England. It is located at the mouth of the River Yare, 20 miles (32 km) east of Norwich. (Thank you Wikiii!) 

I would definitely recommend Great Yarmouth, it's a great beach for the whole family- especially as it has a pleasure beach and many other leisure facilities.

The beach was so nice, and the sky so clear- perfect weather. 

'Evolution' at Great Yarmouth Pleasure Beach, I wish I could say I went on it, but unfortunately I have a great intolerance for anything that spins. I do love rides that go high up, but anything that spins even the slightest I get so sick- I can't even go on the teacups for little children, yet I love roller coasters... logic?

We went for a little walk around the town, and found a little cafe at which we ate fish and chips. It's such a nice town; the architecture, the atmosphere, and the people- I would love to go back there.

You might have not noticed unless I pointed it out, but I am actually wearing tights. I have this thing, I usually wear tights to the beach and not realise how much of a problem this will cause *sigh*.

Moral of the story- DO NOT wear tights to the beach, it will get into your tights and will not go out unless you take your tights off. 

Walking down the beach when the sun was going down must have been one of the highlights of the day.

Trip to the Peak District

So over the Easter holidays I was busy, that's why I haven't been posting much lately. 

About 80% of the holidays was crap, I spent whole days revising for my upcoming exams- sounds fun! *note sarcasm* 

However, the other 20% I was on holiday!

I spent 4 days away in the Peak District with my family and friends, it was a truly fantastic experience, a great break from my hard work. 

For those of you who don't know, the Peak District is an upland area in central and northern England, lying mainly in northern Derbyshire, but also covering parts of Cheshire, Greater Manchester, Staffordshire, and South and West Yorkshire.

I would definitely recommend the Peak District to anyone who wants to go away on a short holiday. It kind of isolates you from your busy and stressful life, as well as social media. Also, if you love hiking, mountains or just holidays- this is the perfect trip. I wouldn't really recommend it if you don't like walking to much, though.

My 14 favourite movies!

I'm sorry i haven't been posting lately, but between exams and holidays i haven't had time at all!
This list is going to contain a variety of different genres, from romance to comedy to horror- but there's something here for everyone.
 Sorry for the long wait, but here it is- my 14 favourite movies.

1. Harry Potter

Harry Potter is based on the (awesome) books by J.K.Rowling, about a boy with magical powers, who doesn't know he had them until he was sent a special invite by Hogwarts- school of witchcraft and wizardry. He goes through a lot to kill his mortal enemy- the one who must not be named- Voldemort, who killed his parents when Harry was just a baby.
The only bad thing about Harry Potter is, I can't decide which part is my favourite! I grew up watching Harry Potter and it holds a special place in my heart <3 .
No but seriously, I've always loved every single movie, they're always so action packed, and there's something here for everyone- romance, action, horror.. okay maybe not so much with the horror, but you get the point.

2. The Hunger Games

The Hunger Games is about 12 districts and the capital. The districts rebelled against the capital once, but lost. So the capital punish the districts every year by taking one boy and one girl from each district, and forcing them to fight to the death in an arena. The story is based around two teenagers in the 12th and most poorest district, Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark. Both get picked to fight in the Hunger Games, but with the unwillingness to kill, they must stay alive in the arena.
I've read all the books, seen both of the movies, and yet I still can't get over the pure genius of this movie. Not only has it got a ton of metaphors, sending out messages towards how our society functions today. The actors are amazing, not mentioning Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson, but the whole acting crew was incredible- they really did feel the inner depth of their characters. And last but not least, i don't know if many noticed this, but the camera shots are absolutely stunning- the artistic composition of colours reflecting the mood and atmosphere of the story was breathtaking.
It's safe to say, the Hunger Games was a movie I will never forget.

3. The Notebook

The movies is based around an old man reading a story to an old woman in a nursing home. The story he reads follows two young lovers, Allie and Noah. They meet at a carnival, and their love blossoms through the summer. However, they are separated by Allie's parents who disapprove of Noah's unwealthy family, and move Allie away. After waiting for Noah for several years, Allie gets engaged to a handsome soldier named Lon. Not shortly after, Allie spots an advertisement of Noah's 200 year old home that he restored for her, and with Allie's love for Noah still alive, she goes to visit him to see if he's okay. Ultimately, Allie is left to choose between her fiance and her first love.
This is, by far, the most romantic movie I've ever seen. And yes, it will leave you in tears- so have a box of tissues nearby. My love for this movie also lies within the ending- which I'm not going to give away- but it leaves you with a sense of happiness and sadness at the same time. The actors also did their part very well, Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams showed the chemistry and longing for their lost love very well, very believable and somehow at the time it didn't seem cheesy at all... okay maybe a bit.

4. We're the Millers

David, a drug dealer, owes his boss money but is unable to pay him. So his boss offers him a proposition; go to Mexico and get some marijuana for him. Knowing it's going to be difficult to get it across the border, he comes up with a plan- pose as a family man. He asks Rose, a stripper he knows, to be his wife. He then asks Kenny, his neighbour, to be his son. He also asks Casey, a teen living on her own, to be the daughter. They call themselves the Millers, and rent an RV to get into mexico. The plot is then diverted to the steeling and smuggling of the enormous amount of drugs, and running away from the people who actually own them.

If you want a good laugh with your friends, this is the movie!  The plot on it's own was actually very intriguing, and their use of comedy to mimic an average family is hilarious. The cast was picked perfectly, Jason Sudeikis transformation from a drug-dealer-looking guy to a family man was shocking, he played the role very well. Jennifer Aniston got into depth with her character, she played Rose very well- a stripper who didn't like her way of making money, slowly transforming into a protective and caring mother. Emma Roberts and Will Poulter made the perfect kids, reckless teenagers who somehow got caught up in a drug smuggling scheme. 

5. The conjuring 

Set in 1971, the story focuses around Carolyn and Roger Perron and their daughters. When the family decides to move into a new Rhode Island farm house, strange things start happening, with escalating nightmarish terror. In desperation, Carolyn contacts a couple of paranormal investigators, Ed and Lorraine Warren, to examine the house. The Warrens discover that the whole area is in a satanic haunting, that is now targeting the Perron family wherever they go. The Warrens will have to use their spiritual strength to defeat this evil at its source, as it threatens to destroy everyone involved.

I'm not going to lie, this movie left me sleepless for several nights- lucky it was the holidays when i saw it. I haven't seen it since to be honest, i'm still to creeped out- this was, not even exaggerating, the scariest movie I've ever seen, and trust me, I've watched a lot of horror movies. I found that in several parts of the movie I was sitting on the edge of my seat, I was holding onto the handles of my seat so hard i thought my nails were going to pierce through the leather. My heart was beating so fast, that at the end I was exhausted... honestly, I think drips of sweat were running down my forehead. But that's what i want from horror movies! You see when i sit down to watch a horror movie, if I'm not nearly peeing myself from fright, what's the point of seeing it? When i watch  a horror film, i want to get scared, i want my heart to race, i want drips of sweat, i want to be exhausted afterwards- it's the whole point of a HORROR movie! I don't understand when people are all like 'Yeah, that wasn't scary. Horror films just don't scare me', so... like... why do you watch them then?! Plus, the people that usually say that are just bragging, and are actually scared on the inside. So overall, i LOVED the movie- scariest I've ever seen!

6. Mean Girls

Cady Heron was raised in Africa by her zoologist parents. From her experience of life in the wildlife, Cady thinks she knows about survival of the fittest. But the laws of the jungle take on a whole new meaning when she enters public high school for the very first time, and encounters psychological warfare and unwritten social rules that teenagers face today. 

In honour of the 10th anniversary of mean girls, which, coincidentally, was on a Wednesday- if you know what I mean. Mean girls is a classic chick flick, that deals with the problems that teenagers face with unspoken social rules. It's perfect for a girly night in with your friends, it will leave you laughing and comparing the characters in the movie to the people at your school... don't say it's only us that do that!? Mean girls is still a classic among teenagers, and there are so many reasons why! You can relate to the characters, the cliches and clicks are exaggerated but only to a certain extent, and the way that Cady tries to fit in with the populars is something we've all experienced- maybe not ourselves, but seen other people do so. Mean girls will always be a favourite among my group of friends, and i think it's pretty safe to say- mean girls will always be a favourite among many girls. 

7. Frozen

In the kingdom of Arendelle, two beloved sisters and Princess' love to play in the snow... but not just any snow, Princess Elsa - the eldest- has the power of freezing and creating ice and snow. However, when Elsa accidentally hits Anna on the head with her gift and almost kills her, their parents bring them to the trolls to save Anna's life and make her forget Elsa's gift. When they return, Elsa shuts herself of from the world, afraid of hurting anyone just like she hurt her sister. When the ship which held their parents on sinks, three years later Elsa's coronation forces her to open the gates of the castle to celebrate. Anna meets Prince Hans at the party and decides to marry him immediately, Elsa does not accept the marriage and looses control of her powers, freezing Arendelle. Elsa flees to the mountains, and Anna teams up with an ice-seller Kristof, his reindeer Sven, and a snowman named Olaf to seek out Elsa.

This has to be my most favourite musical ever! And I say musical, because trust me, about 80% of this was singing- but in the best way. To be honest, I don't usually like musicals, I find the music irritating and just want the story to go on- but it was completely different with frozen. I loved the songs, they just make you want to get up, get dancing, get singing. The plot was very emotional, with their parents death, and Elsa trying to contain her secret, as well as a pinch of romance involved- it was a roller coaster of emotions! I also loved the ending -not going to spoil it- but it really does show what's important in life. I was actually pleasantly surprised by this movie, even though I wanted to see it from the start (mostly because Demi done a song for it!). It's just that I don't really like disney princess movies, they're all centred around the idea of 'love' and only 'love' is what matters- but this was totally different and again, i'm not going to spoil it, but by the end your just left with a sense of relief that the plot wasn't based on a romance. 

8. Monsters University 

The story starts of with a young Mike Wazowski on a school trip to Monsters Inc., a scaring company. He was inspired by a scarer who went to Monsters University to become the greatest scarer ever. Years later, Mike joins Monsters University, but when the lazy student James P. 'Sully' Sullivan,  breaks into his room, they start competing against each other. Their dispute ends when they accidentally break Mrs Hardscrabble's cylinder with her greatest achievement- a powerful scream of a boy. They are both expelled from the scare classes by Hardscrabble, who tells Sully he is lazy and Mike he's not scary, and they become enemies. Mike see's his only hope in getting back to the scare course by competing and winning the scare games. But with a rubbish team including his enemy -Sully-, the odds seem against him. 

Okay, hate me all you like, but I generally think this movie was better than the first one- I know I know, throw bricks at me all you like, but... I just loved it sooo much! Don't get me wrong, I did love the first one, but I began to love this one so much that I even got a teddy of Sully from my little sister for my birthday- aweee, that was so cute of her! The plot was so inspirational, Mike is brought down by everybody around him, telling him that he's not scary enough, and yet he still gets into University, and as well all know, eventually became a scarer himself. There is a little bit of a plot twist at the end, I'm not going to give to much away, but it was different than expected. Overall I love this movie, at the end you feel so inspired to dream big and never give up- I love those kind of movies! 

9. The shining 

A man, his wife and son become the winter caretakers of an isolated hotel. There Danny, the son, sees disturbing visions of the hotels past using a telepathic gift known as 'The Shining'. The father, Jack, is writing a project when he slips into insanity as a result of cabin fever and former guests of the hotels ghosts. After talking to a waiters ghost, he convinces Jack to 'correct' his family, Jack goes completely insane. The only thing that can save Danny and his mother is 'the shining'.

Okay, this is old but gold. Not really scary, which undermines my whole argument of a horror movie being scary as i said in number 5, but i kind of love the plot combined with the vintage feeling to it. It's actually kind of disturbing in a way, I mean when the father goes crazy and tries to kill his own family- it's pretty weird. You might have thought this is quite gruesome, with people running about with axes and knives, but it's not. Gruesome movies are not my cup of tea, I don't really like to watch people's legs being chopped of and blood splattered everywhere- it's not scary, just disturbing and makes me feel uneasy. But this movie was not like that. It was disturbing in the way that Jack goes crazy, and the actor- Jack Nicholson- played it extremely well... maybe even too well, I mean looking at his face in the movie just brought a sense of disturbance. Overall, I don't know what it was, maybe the plot, maybe the vintage feeling, or maybe just seeing what kind of movies scared people 30 years ago, but I loved it. 

10. Red Riding Hood

The plot is formed around Valeria, a young woman torn between two men. She in love with an outsider, Peter, but her parents have arranged for her to marry the wealthy Henry. Unable to lose each other, Valerie and Peter are plan to run away together, until they learn that Valerie's older sister was killed by the werewolf that prowls the dark forest surrounding their village. The people of the village have maintained an uneasy truce with the beast, offering the creature a monthly sacrifice. However, under a blood red moon, the wolf wants more and takes a human life. Scared and wanting revenge, the people call on a werewolf hunter to help them kill the wolf- Father Solomon. Solomon warns the wolf, who takes human form by day, it could be any one of them. As the death toll rises with each moon, Valerie begins to suspect that the werewolf could be someone she loves...

This is a whole new take on the classic story of red riding hood. I loved it so much because, unlike every other take on a classic story, it was actually original. It tells the story of red riding hood in a thriller kind of way, which i loved! It wasn't scary, but the atmosphere was created a sort of tension- who was going to be killed next? Who's the werewolf? Most of all, I absolutely loved the ending! When I first watched it, I was with my friends who already knew the ending, so I was itching to be in on the secret- WHO WAS IT! By the way, thank you friends, for not telling me and spoiling the ending. If you ever do watch the movie, DO NOT let anyone tell you who it is- it would spoil the whole thing. The ending wasn't a disappointed, it was really really good! So overall, I loved the movie- I would recommend it to anyone who likes detective-y type of films. 

11. Night at the museum 

When an unemployed, divorced, loser and father Larry Daley, is hired as a night watchman at the Museum of Natural History, he soon discovers that an old Egyptians stone brings all the exhibits to life after the sun sets. Suddenly, Larry finds himself face to face with a T-rex skeleton, tiny armies or Romans and cowboys and a mischievous monkey. But with the help of President Teddy Roosevelt, Larry figures out a way to control the chaos and become a hero in his sons eyes. When the the former three night watchmen want to steal the tablet, Larry must restore order to the museum before the historic characters turn to dust.

I can't explain why I love this film... maybe because I've always watched it, ever since i was very little. It came out when i was, about 8, and ever since then I've loved it. I think I loved it then, because it was such a cool fantasy story- I mean, imagine if it happened in real life! I still love it because, it's such a great comedy, absolutely hilarious- and Ben Stiller is a great comedian-actor. I've always loved every movie that Ben Stiller has been in, he never lets me down- in my opinion, he's a great and very funny actor. I just love getting together with my family at the end of the day, all wrapped in blankets and a cup of hot chocolate in one hand, watching a great comedy such as Night at the Museum- Mmm, sounds like a great night in!

12. A Walk To Remember

In the coast of North Carolina, a prank on a student goes terribly wrong and puts the student in hospital. Landon, a popular student with no plans for the future, is held responsible and forced to participate in after school community service as punishment. Also participating in these activities is Jamie, an unpopular girl with great ambitions and nothing in common with Landon. But the community service drives Landon and Jamie together, and he begins to develop strong feelings for her- something he did not expect. The two start a relationship, much to the annoyance of Landon's popular friends and Jamie's strict farther. But when a heart-breaking secret puts their relationship to the test, they find out the true meaning of love and fate. 

I first watched this when I was round my friends, we wanted to watch a chick flick so she pulled out this movie. I have to say, at the start i was reluctant, no offence but the cover looked kind of old school- not in a good way. But after being convinced that it's better than it looks, we watched it, and i'm so glad we did! At first it was kind of cheesy, but it was never cheesy to the point of annoyance, it was cheesy love- which i don't mind, actually. It was old school, but in a good way, I loved how they both broke the barrier of popularity through love... so romantic! This movie will leave you in tears, so have a box of tissues in hand. The end was really sad, not going to give it away, but I did love it- shows the importance of love, and the meaning of fate. 

13. Meet the Parents

Greg Focker, a male nurse, wants to propose to his girlfriend- Pam. However, he discovers that Pam's father, Jack, prefers to be asked for his daughters hand in marriage before the proposal. Greg and Pam take a visit to the Burns home, so that Greg can ask Pams father for his daughters hand in marriage. Jack was a former agent of the CIA, and dislikes Greg very much. But Greg must now try to win back Jack's trust and liking, through a visit that can't be much worse. Gregs efforts to make Jack like him, end up in him losing Jacks cat, lighting the Burn's garden on fire, giving Pam's sister a black eye... and much more!

This movie is absolutely hilarious! Did i mention how much I love Ben stiller? Well, he definitely didn't let me down in this movie. It's another film that makes everyone gather in front of the TV, for a great laugh. Robert DeNiro definitely performed great in this film, he was a great choice for playing Jack. Ben Stiller and Robert DeNiro showed the tense relationship between a father-in-law and his son-in-law, through a very comedic way- it was genius!

14. Bridget Jones's Diary

Bridget Jones; an average woman, struggling with her age, weight, drinking problem, smoking problem, and her lack of man. However, as a New Years resolution, Bridget decides to take control of her life through a diary, which she swears she is going to tell the complete truth. Bridget, an assistant at a London book publisher, is taken into interest by her charming boss. But at the same time she also keeps running into Mark Darcy, a stiff barrister who she has known since a young age. The whole plot revolves around her decision between her boss and Mr. Darcy.

I can list about 100 reasons why I love this movie! It is the ultimate chick flick for a night in with your friends. It will leave you in fits of laughter, and in floods of tears, as well as shouting on top of your lungs, and singing your heart out (the soundtrack is actually quite awesome). Who would you choose- the boss, or Mr Darcy? As the plot revolves around the two men, you learn many ways in which these two are such jerks- just like guys in real life! I love the main character, Bridget Jones, she's a perfect interpretation of every girls imperfections thrown in with a little bit of a comedy twist. Also, I did love the second part as well- in fact I loved it just as much as the first, it was equally as funny, and her life seemed equally as devastating. I heard they were going to make a third part, but it might just be a rumour?! I hope not... I would really love to see the movie interpretation of the book.

How to make a candle!

I don't know where I got this idea from, but at 2am last night I stumbled upon a weird part of google... and today I ended up making candles!
So here it is, how to make your own candle, hope you enjoy! :)

 First of all, decide upon a container which you would like to make your candle in. I found this little pot in my cupboard, it's a pastel blue- I love the colour.

 Next, find some old candles. The little ones are really easy to use, and are white so you can easily make your own colour with them. But if you would like a specific colour, find a coloured candle. I found this orange one, i liked the intense colour so i used it.

 Get a container. Bare in mind that you'll be putting this over a pan of boiling water, so choose an appropriate size and material.

 Get a string for your candle. I didn't actually have any string, therefore I used one from my other candles. Make sure it goes over the top of your container. Next stick it down with some tape, don't worry if it doesn't stand up at this point. Next, get a little stick (I used a cocktail stick), and stick it down with tape over the pot. Now, using tape, secure the string to the stick, make sure the string reaches the cocktail stick, if not it's too short.

 Get your candle, and take your string out. If you don't have any string for the previous step, use string from one of these candles- you won't need it anymore. Just make sure it's the right size.

 Break up all your candles into tiny pieces, remember- the smaller your candles broken into, the quicker it will melt.

 Get a pan of water, and stick it on the highest possible gas mark. Wait until the water is boiling, then put the container full of candles on top.

 Stir the candles around, until it becomes liquified wax. This might take a while, took me about 15 minutes until they fully melted.
Side note- if you didn't know, this is a very good way of melting chocolate. Replace the candles with chocolate. It's a great method, I've NEVER burnt chocolate melting it this way.

 Pick a colour of food colouring which you would like your candles to turn, as well as food flavouring- that makes the scent. Basically, when i put my food colouring in (i chose yellow), it just floated around at the bottom. When i mixed it even more, it did kind of turn the wax a darker shade of yellow. When the candles was ready, there was actually a pool of darker wax at the bottom. So if i were you, i'd mix it around a lot. Also, it might not have worked so well for me, because my wax was already coloured. As for the vanilla, that worked pretty well- but i do recommend adding a lot more than you would to a cake.

 Next pour the wax into your pot. Depending on how wide and deep your container is, it might take a while to cool down and harden. You might want to clean up at this point- and yes, cleaning up those dirty containers that were full of dried wax, was a nightmare.

And there you go! Your own home made candles!
